Research Analyst - AU

Location:      Germantown, Maryland

Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC) is a technical services business focused on providing Project Management and specialized consulting services in the areas of nuclear safety, worker safety and health, quality assurance, and the environment, as well as materials and facilities disposition within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and commercial power industry.


  • Research and gather data and produce a variety of summary documents and reports to suit client needs
  • Consolidate comments on those documents
  • Research and gather data, edit as needed, and transmit weekly report submissions
  • Analyze reports for discrepancies and make necessary corrections before preparation for distribution
  • Maintain and monitor multiple calendars
  • Review /edit documents
  • Prepare and dispatch correspondence
  • Schedule meetings
  • Work closely with clients to ensure all deadlines are met, foresee their needs and provide solutions
  • Organize, facilitate, and attend meetings; record minutes and notes during the event
  • Develop and maintain PoC database / list for program support
  • Maintain communication with varied contacts within the client’s many work sites
  • Maintain initiative, flexibility, and cooperation in a team environment
  • Assist in the planning and facilitating of workshops

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS required, with 3–6 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willing and able to travel to support annual workshops
  • Must be customer service oriented, experienced in interacting directly with clients, and possess the ability to foresee clients needs and provide solutions and recommendations
  • Experienced in researching issues and collecting data from various data bases for the development of summary reports
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and display complex data in a more functional ways
  • Must possess analytical capabilities
  • Ability to participate in meetings and capture meeting minutes
  • Must possess good written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and follow complex directions/instructions
  • Willingness to work in an environment that changes rapidly and requires occasional long hours
  • Must be a detailed-oriented self-starter and have the ability to work independently
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers
  • Ability to work in a client environment
  • Ability to meet the requirements for a DOE security clearance and Building Access badge. Access will require the qualified candidate be a U.S. citizen with DOE Q clearance. The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of maintaining a security clearance will be required as a condition of employment.
  • A pre-employment test for the absence of any illegal substances will be required. Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of illegal substances may also be conducted for continued access to client sites. The candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation
  • Familiarity with DOE AU program office procedures and tracking systems
  • Self-directed and able to define and achieve goals with little supervision
