Research Analyst / Tech Editior & Event Support Full-time

Location:    Germantown, MD

Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough review and technical editing support on various documents, including directives, standards, policies, newsletters, and strategic documents.
  • Research, gather, and develop data.
  • Produce a variety of summary documents and reports to suit client needs.
  • Analyze documents for continuity of content and discrepancies, and make necessary corrections before preparation for distribution.
  • Manage updates and revisions from multiple reviewers.
  • Consolidate comments on documents.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure all deadlines are met; foresee client needs and provide solutions.
  • Prepare and dispatch correspondence; schedule meetings.
  • Organize, facilitate, and attend meetings; record minutes and notes during events.
  • Develop and maintain database/list/action tracker for program support.
  • Maintain communication with various contacts within the client’s work sites.
  • Maintain initiative, flexibility, and cooperation in a team environment.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitating of Webex sessions, town halls, focus groups, and workshops.
  • Coordinate events, track other direct costs, travel, paperwork and documentation with vendors.
  • Provide administrative support for events including workshops, training sessions, and conferences (must be willing to travel, work long hours and lift up to 15 lbs if onsite event).
    • Coordinate pre-registration, update agendas, organize presentations, and print and ship materials as needed.
    • Set up and staff registration, run presentations for clients, integrate virtual component if necessary, take notes during sessions, and other administrative tasks as needed.
    • Analyze survey results.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS required, with 1-3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel.
  • Experienced in researching issues and collecting data from various databases for the development of summary reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and display complex data in more functional ways.
  • Must possess analytical capabilities.
  • Must be customer service oriented,experienced in interacting directly with clients.
  • Ability to foresee client’s needs and provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Ability to participate in meetings and capture meeting minutes.
  • Must possess good written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex directions/instructions.
  • Willingness to work in an environment that changes rapidly, and requires occasional long hours.
  • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter and have the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers.
  • Ability to meet the requirements for a DOE security clearance and Building Access badge. The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of maintaining a security clearance will be required as a condition of employment.
  • A pre-employment test for the absence of any illegal substances will be required. Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of illegal substances may also be conducted for continued access to client sites. The candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation.
  • Familiarity with DOE program office procedures and tracking systems.
  • Self-directed, and able to define and achieve goals with little supervision.
