Located in Germantown, MD, Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC) is a technical services business focused on providing Project Management and specialized consulting services in the areas of nuclear safety, worker safety and health, quality assurance, environment as well as materials and facilities disposition within the DOE and commercial power industry.

Location: Germantown, MD and College Park, MD
Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC), and its team of consulting firms, focus on providing Project Management and specialized technical consulting services in the areas of emergency operations, nuclear incident response, nuclear safety, worker safety and health, quality assurance, environment as well as materials and facilities disposition within the DOE and commercial power industry. The team is comprised of the following firms: PEC, Centaur and MAS, each offering its own comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits package.
This position supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Classification (OC) for DOE Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) which is responsible for the classification review of all documents requested under statute or Executive Order prior to release. Contingent upon reward of contract.
Responsibilities:
- Individual manages contractual efforts in a defined program/task area to ensure responsiveness to job requests as outlined in the PWS and provides technical oversight to the technical contractor employees.
- Individual is the point of contact between the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and OC management on administrative aspects of all work-related issues within the specified program.
- The TAM assesses the administrative workload on a weekly basis and reassigns staff as needed to ensure administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- The TAM also ensures administrative staff are cross trained in different administrative duties in order to provide adequate coverage during peak workloads.
Required Qualifications:
- Individual must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in one of the engineering disciplines or physical sciences. An advanced degree in engineering management or a business management is highly desirable.
- Individual must have a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in project management (projects of comparable size and complexity). This experience may be a combination of private sector, civil service, and/or military experience.
- Individual must have demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, conflict resolution techniques, and proven ability to perform under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- It is highly desirable that some or all of this experience be specific to nuclear weapons/nuclear material production, nuclear safeguards, and/or other national security activities.
- Familiarity and experience with DOE sites and the National Laboratories are also highly desirable.
- Experience in quality assurance, development and implementation of progress measurement tools, and a detailed knowledge of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, Executive order 13526, and DOE classification regulations and policies are required for this position.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and subject areas.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday in office in Germantown, MD or College Park, MD.
- Able to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers.
- DOE site access will require the qualified candidate be a U.S. citizen with an ACTIVE DOE Q security clearance or DOD TS equivalent. The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of maintaining a security clearance will be required as a condition of employment.
- Certain positions requiring a security clearance may require the periodic successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
- Pre-employment and ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances will be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to DOE sites. The candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment.

- Experience in the DOE complex.
- Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation.
