Exercise Control Center Operator - Full and Part Time

Location:  Fort Chaffee, Arkansas

The ECC Operator is a critical part of the Training Support Services Contract supporting the Department of Energy’s Office of Secure Transportation (OST). As an ECC operator, you will perform routine clerical and administrative tasks while also providing basic security support to the facility at Fort Chaffee. You will receive, compile, archive and distribute information to key decision-makers on a wide range of topics, including training support requests, weather warnings, emergency services and more.

This is an entry level position, but you do need to have basic skills in the Microsoft Office suite. We will train you to do the rest. Having military or law enforcement experience is preferred, but not a requirement. You will have to pass an initial and ongoing random drug screenings and be able to obtain an “L” or Secret security clearance.

This position starts as a part-time, adjunct position. After the initial 120 hours of training, an adjunct will work as needed to fill in for full-time operators. When full-time positions become open, they are only offered to the adjunct staff based on overall job performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support OST Training through coordinating and managing training resource requirements such as firing ranges and training areas and through monitoring and logging training information.
  • Operate and monitor section equipment such as radio and telephone communications, security camera systems, weather monitoring equipment and alarm systems.
  • Support security operations by monitoring access control points and personnel movements into and within a limited access area, conducting continuous surveillance of security feeds, monitoring visitor control and badge inventory.
  • Take appropriate actions in event of an emergency to include notifying emergency services and site leadership and activating the emergency Alert and Notification System.
  • Act as a Custodian for Classified Material protection Control including classified mail transmission.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced word processing using Microsoft Word, as well as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
