
Mr. Stokes is the Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC) Corporate Safety & Quality Assurance Officer. His skills include project management, occupational safety and health program management, safety-related program execution, environmental regulation, quality assurance, integrated safety management, design engineering, nuclear facility licensing, strategic planning, policy analysis, and the analysis of a wide range of technical projects.
Steven Stokes has more than 40 years of professional experience as a Naval Officer, Engineer, and safety and quality assurance professional.
His career includes management of occupational safety and health and environmental health programs, and safety oversight of complex nuclear operations within the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) defense nuclear facility complex. As a project manager/project engineer, Mr. Stokes provided safety oversight of the design and construction of new, highly complex, one-of-a-kind nuclear facilities, the start-up and/ or restart of nuclear facilities, and implementation of DOE safety and engineering design directives, e.g., implementation of technical standards, orders, and guides related to nuclear safety.
As Technical Director for the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board, Mr. Stokes directed day-to-day agency operations within DOE’s Defense Nuclear Complex involving the entire life cycle of nuclear facility operations, e.g., design engineering, construction, nuclear facility operations, deactivation, and decommissioning.
Mr. Stokes has a B.S. in Environmental Health from the University of Washington, an MBA from George Washington University, and an M.S. in Environmental and Hydrologic Engineering from the University of Maryland.
