Project Analyst I

Location:      DOE HQ, Germantown, MD

The Project Analyst shall provide technical and administrative services to assist the Department of Energy (DOE) in support of mission support, technical assistance, nuclear safety, and environment, safety and health as well as general and cross-cutting support to the Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in preparing program and management planning and support documentation for EHSS-74.
  • Provide assistance in maintaining personal property inventory for EHSS to include computer equipment, cell phones, personal digital assistants, faxes, shredders, copiers, firearms, emergency equipment and specialized security equipment, and dispose of excess EHSS equipment and furniture. Provide assistance in updating and maintaining EHSS assets in multiple DOE systems to include DAYS/SUNFLOWER as well as all functions of equipment distribution and tracking.
  • Plan, coordinate and assist with EHSS space plans, office relocations, furniture purchases, and renovations with appropriate DOE organizations. Will also be responsible for conducting studies and surveys of office space, office layouts and work areas.
  • Provide other support as required by EHSS administration/logistics as needed. Some examples are support for copier management, key management, telecommunications, conference management and travel.
  • Provide assistance in conducting special studies and analyses covering a range of concerns in selected EHSS activities that involve discrete contact with primarily senior staff and staff at various levels within the organization to gather data, solicit opinions and judgments, and develop recommendations regarding the appropriate course of action for the Director including classified space alterations/construction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 2–5 years of experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced word processing using Word, as well as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Friendly, diplomatic, and confidential when dealing with federal and contractor employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
  • Dedicated and flexible approach to work.
  • Willingness to work directly with clients in an environment that changes rapidly and requires occasional long hours.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers.
  • DOE site access requires the qualified candidate be a U.S. citizen. An Active DOE L or Department of Defense (DOD) Secret security clearance will be required as a condition of employment.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances will be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to government sites. The candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOE HQ, sites and systems is a plus.
